What is the Diversity Ambassador Program?
The Diversity Ambassador Program strives to cultivate student leaders who are focused on the issues of social justice and bettering their community through their involvement. Each year the Diversity Ambassadors participate in a trip that brings together culturally diverse students who desire to learn more about history on an up close level. This year Diversity Ambassadors will visit historic underground railroad sites.
Who can apply?
Any current Cal Poly Pomona student who has a cumulative gpa of 2.4 or better.
What's the process?
Interested persons must submit a completed application which includes a letter of recommendation from a Cal Poly Pomona faculty or staff person and participate in a 20 minute interview/presentation.
When is the trip?
The Civil Rights trip will take place March 18-March 23, 2010.
When are applications due?
Applications are due by 5pm on Friday, October 16, 2009 in the African American Student Center.
I am a 1st year student and I don’t have a gpa yet, can I apply?
Yes, if selected we will check your grades at the end of Fall quarter to insure that you have a 2.4 or better.
I've been selected now what?
You will pay $300 toward the cost of your trip, participate in fundraisers, register for EWS 499 WInter quater and EWS 400 Spring quarter.
