We invite prospective students to join us for the following events:
Black Student Scholarship and Welcome Dinner: The Black Student Union (BSU) sponsors a program to assist the University in its expressed goal of increasing the enrollment of African American students by providing scholarships to incoming students. This is a joint gala co-sponsored by BSU, the Office of Admissions and Outreach, the African American Student Center, the Black Faculty and Staff Association.
College: Making It Happen: This event features workshops about the four systems of higher education, financial aid, admissions requirements, how to apply to college, and how to prepare academically for college. We invite middle school students and their families to join us for this event.
Poly Palooza Preview Day: This event is an excellent way for prospective students to become familiar with Cal Poly Pomona and is a wonderful opportunity for you to experience our campus and become acquainted with our programs and services.
Residential Intensive Summer Education Program (R.I.S.E.): The Office of Admissions and Outreach conducts a five- day four- night summer program, for First Time Freshmen, which takes place during the month of August. The goal of RISE is to assist students in becoming connected to the university and its programs and services, which will make the transition to college easier.
College Day: The Black Student Union takes pleasure in inviting local area high school students to be their guest for this unique program. This is a wonderful opportunity to expose students to our university and to motivate them to think about their future aspirations.
Transfer Day is a wonderful opportunity for you to experience our campus and familiarize yourself with our programs and services. The day has been planned to meet your educational and career expectations
Transfer Day for Future Teachers: Prospective transfer students who are interested in teaching K-12 are invited to spend a half-day at Cal Poly Pomona.
We invite high school and community college counselors to Counselor's Day.
