Residential Intensive Summer Education Program (R.I.S.E.)

The R.I.S.E. program is a four-day residential program designed to bring underrepresented students and their parents to Cal Poly Pomona for an educational experience. The goal of RISE is to assist students in becoming connected to the university and its programs and services, which will make the transition to college easier.

Students will stay in the residence halls and participate in a variety of activities that include, but are not limited to: an academic component, small group tours, workshops covering financial costs in higher education, life as a college student, career opportunities, test-taking skills and diversity in college. The students will also participate in one-on one advising sessions, educational seminars, field trips, faculty roundtable discussions and reception. During the four-day program, there will be a parent program in the evening.
