Cinco de Mayo Origins
Dr. Hayes-Bautista - Cinco de Mayo Speaker Tour
Dr. Hayes-Bautista's presentation details the origins of Cinco de Mayo, and why we in the United States celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Mexico does not recognize it as a Mexican holiday, because this celebration originated in California by Latinos already living in the United States. Latinos in California were overjoyed that freedom and democracy had finally won a major victory over forces of slavery and elitism. Latinos all over the state rejoiced and celebrated with fireworks, patriotic songs, and speeches.

The Stereophones: Benefit Show & Album Release
What is The Stereophones? The Stereophones is a new musical project by brothers, Kayhan Ahmadi and Kevin Ahmadi, who released one song, once a month, for 10 months, until the record was completed. They teamed up with a ton of other creative people to release other goodies with each song, including videos, artwork, remixes, and tons of other stuff. Simply put, they love art in all of its forms, and have a community of talented friends to bring a project like this to life. They want to reach as many people as they can with this project. Best of all, everything released is entirely free. Visit www.thestereophones.com to learn more about the band!
