Leadership Initiatives

3D Leadership Conference

3D Leadership Conference is a one day conference for student leaders. The conference is coordinated by various departments. The conference will provide leadership workshops that are part of SDLI, a speaker will provide motivation and inspiration, and leadership opportunities will be offered to students.

Council Transition Retreat

Council Leadership Retreat is a day long leadership development for new executive board members of all the student government councils. Deans, Associate Deans, and Council Advisors are invited to meet the new members representing the various academic councils. The retreat’s purpose is to prepare all students with the specific leadership skills to effectively run an effective council. Various workshops are offered by during the day.

Cross Cultural Retreat

The purpose of the Cross Cultural Retreat is to provide an opportunity for all members of our campus community to get away for the weekend and talk about issues of diversity. The retreat was in established at Cal Poly Pomona in 1988 by students, faculty, and staff. The Goals of the retreat are to:

·         Expand awareness of each other as students, faculty, staff and
administrators in the Cal Poly Pomona community.

·         Provide a safe and non-threatening atmosphere for sharing and exploring one another's cultural experiences.

·         Promote self-knowledge.

·         Identify strategies that would help promote diversity and affect positive change at Cal Poly Pomona and in the community
