Project Development

Here is a quick list of things to think about in the development stages of your program to make it more successful.

1.    Articulate a clear goal and purpose for the program.  Is this program a result of tradition or is it still relevant to our mission?

2.    Build a potential committee member list.

3.    Develop a detailed program and committee description that includes:

a.    Contact name, phone, e-mail, and web address for all members

b.   Date and time of event

c.    Cost to attend the event

d.   What kind of program are you planning?

e.    Where will it be held?

f.     Who are your general invites?

g.   Who is your target audience?

h.   Develop a task list and a timeline for the planning process.

4.    Start to establish a budget for the program.  What is the maximum amount you can afford to spend on this project?

5.    Begin to identify any “experts” who can assist you in planning, such as printers, graphic designers, floral decorators, balloon artists, etc.

6.    Are there any creative collaborations can you form with this program?
