The Leadership Workshop Series
The Student Development and Leadership Institute (SDLI) offers a series of leadership development workshops throughout the academic year. The program is open to all students who wish to enhance their leadership skills. Students who register with the program and wish to receive a certificate of completion from the University have their entire academic career to complete a 2 option program. Program 1 consists of 7 leadership workshops and program 2 consists of 14 hours of leadership workshops. The two options were created to fit the demand of time commitments and interest of students. A certificate of completion will describe how many workshops each person has attended.
The program provides workshops in 5 different development areas. You can choose to participate in workshops from any of the following development areas:
- Academic Development workshops provide support for students to enhance their academic success, regardless of student’s academic major and class standing.
- Career Development workshops are aimed at participants who have an interest in exploring their career after Cal Poly Pomona or enhancing their current employment experience.
- Human Relations Development workshops are aimed at participants who have an interest in learning more about diversity or social change.
- Organizational Development workshops are aimed at participants who have some involvement or interest in working with organizations.
- Personal Development workshops are aimed at participants who are taking their first steps at developing their leadership skills and have not been involved.
