The winner will receive a $25 Bronco Bucks gift card and have their artwork appear on all event marketing materials and featured at the Disability Awareness Month Art Show in January 2010

To increase awareness of and to promote access and equity for, individuals with disabilities throughout the Cal Poly Pomona campus community.

AdA History

Cal Poly Pomona is a campus rich in diversity as our students span the rich diverse ethnic and socio-economical backgrounds. With 19,151 students in Fall 2008, 3% have identified as being disabled.

The Access & disABILITY Alliance (AdA) is a relatively new organization on the Cal Poly Pomona campus. Formed on May 27, 2008, the AdA is comprised of faculty, staff and students whose goal is to promote awareness, sensitivity, and a cultural identity of those with disabilities. AdA is a self-funded & donation based diversity group that has joined the ranks of the other Unity groups on campus such as BFSA, LFSSA, APFSA, Pride Alliance, and Native American Coalition. We strive to provide advocacy, to create a welcoming and inclusive campus environment, and to provide educational programs that encourage the idea that a disability should not be seen as a limitation, but rather, as a sign of perserverance, strength, and determination in accomplishing all life endeavors.

We are currently underway planning for next year's disABILITY Awareness Month. We are excited to be expanding from 2009's week of activitites to a month of celebration. Stay tuned for further details. If you would like to help us plan, we are always looking for new members and collaborators and we would love the support.

AdA meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of each month from 3:00 - 4:00pm in the DRC Conference Room, 9-103.
