General Roles & Responsibilities

• As an Orientation Leader you may be responsible for one or more of the following tasks:

Ø       Parent Orientation Leader Ø       Poly Nights Leader Ø       Small Group Discussions

Ø       Student Group Leader Ø       Program setup/cleanup Ø       Campus Tours

• Orientation Leaders will serve as a guide, mentor, and role model to new students, parents and fellow leaders.

• Assist new students with the transition to campus life and encourage involvement in the campus community.

Qualifications

• Current Cal Poly Pomona student

• Minimum Cumulative GPA 2.2

• Mandatory Time Commitment

Ø  Spring Quarter Training: April 3 – June 5, 2009 (Every Friday 3-5pm)

o    Note: Employment is contingent on passing the Spring Quarter Training with at least a 75% on all work

Ø  Full time employment: June – July 2009 (You will not be able to take summer classes)

Ø  Part time employment: August 2009

Ø  Occasional Overnight – Poly Nights

Ø  Occasional OS programs, activities, and functions – September 2009 – April 2010

§         Orientation Leaders should be motivated, personable, outgoing, team-oriented, reliable, respectful, polite, professional, and have pride in Cal Poly Pomona.

Compensation:

§         Earn $9.00/hr.

§         Lunch during all Orientation programs

§         Housing and two additional meals during Poly Nights
