Patrol

University Police officers are vested with the same powers and responsibilities as all police officers within the state of California. Their authority is granted through legislative action defined in the California Education and Penal Codes. University police officers meet the California Peace Officer’s Standards and Training (POST) Commission requirements mandated for all California law enforcement officers and have full arrest authority. University police officers are trained in the use of weapons and carry them on campus.

A School Resource Officer (SRO) is assigned to International Polytechnic High School (I-Poly), located on the campus. In partnership with LA County Office of Education, the SRO position is funded by a U.S. Department of Justice COPS In Schools grant.

University Police officers also provide contract services for campus special events. For information, contact Sergeant Wilson at
wbwilson@csupomona.edu.
