What is Information Services?

Background

The Information Services group within Student Affairs Information and Technology Services (SAITS) strives to provide assistance for:

• Collecting and storing data managed within Student Affairs;
• Supplementing this data with business context; and
• Distributing meaningful and actionable information throughout the campus

Currently Information Services has some involvement in the following areas:

• Applications Support & Development
• Data Warehouse
• PeopleSoft

The SAITS Executive Director or Associate Director participates in many cross-divisional planning groups and committees. This promotes campus awareness about ways in which decisions made at a campus level affect Student Affairs. Conversely, it also provides feedback on how decisions made within Student Affairs affect other divisions, faculty and students.

Like the SAITS department in general, SAITS Information Services is a new initiative.
