HOUSING PAYMENT DEADLINE
The second installment payment for Summer 2008 is due Friday, July 11, 2008. ALL residents should check their BroncoDirect account for outstanding balances. Failure to pay outstanding balances by 5 p.m. on July 11, 2008, will result in a $20.00 administrative late charge and meal plan privileges will be suspended without compensation of lost meals. An unpaid balance may jeopardize your housing contract AND result in the loss of Fall 08 classes. Please call (909) 869-5120 with any questions regarding your account status. University Housing Services office hours: Monday – Thursday, 7am – 6pm. Closed Fridays.
SPACE IN YOUR ROOM OR SUITE?
If you have not been assigned a roommate for the summer, please keep your belongings to your side of the room and your set of furniture. We continue to contract new residents throughout the summer quarter, and sometimes we are unable to give you advance notice. If you impede someone from moving in, you will be charged.
END OF 1st 5-WEEK SESSION
End of 1st 5 week session is July 29. Residents contracted only for the 1st 5-week must check out by 5pm on Wednesday, July 30th. Please make appointments with an RA in your building.
UHS COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT
Please help us build a sustainable (green) campus and preserve our precious resources by joining us in our efforts to conserve energy and water and reduce waste through recycling. How can you participate? Here are some simple ways that make a difference:
· RECYCLE paper, bottles and plastic bags – use the blue bin in your room to collect these items. The next time you take out your trash, take your blue bin and place in the receptacle next to the trash bin. On campus, look for recycling collection bins to throw out your glass or plastic bottles and paper.
· TURN OFF LIGHTS, COMPUTERS, AND OTHER ELECTRONICS when not in use. Don’t leave your computer on all day and night if you are not using it.
· TAKE SHORTER SHOWERS – reducing your shower by just two minutes can save 10 gallons of water.
· TURN OFF WATER WHILE BRUSHING TEETH – this simple act can save an average of 9 gallons of water!
· BE AWARE OF E-WASTE! Some waste (trash) can be hazardous and are not accepted at landfills. Items such as electronic devices (computers, televisions, telephones, calculators, power strips, etc.) and even fluorescent light bulbs are considered hazardous. Save these items for our E-Waste Collection days. The next e-waste collection day is Saturday, July 19, 2008, between 7:30am and 3:30 pm in Parking Lot K Annex.
