Interested in computers and technology? From workshops on current technology trends to events showcasing their own high tech skills and abilities, students in this community may experience opportunities to work with campus technology projects, internships, and student employment.

Environmental Design (Montecito Hall)
This is a live-in and learn-in community for students with interest in Environmental Design. Students stimulate their creativity by studying together, sharing ideas, and participating in custom designed programming. Study rooms are equipped for the academic needs of environmental Design students.

Poly Scholars in Residence (Montecito Hall)
This honors housing program is sponsored in collaboration with the Keith and Jean Honors College of Cal Poly Pomona. Students with a 3.25 GPA or members of the University Honors Program are eligible to participate in this academically focused community. Residence will create additional community guidelines to foster academics and will need to complete eight hours per quarter of community service and/or community education. FOCUS...Focus on Career and Academic Success (Vista Suites) This program is designed to support students' success in current courses of study and preparation for postgraduate experiences. Residents will work with UHS staff and other campus resources to provide academic enhancement opportunities including prep tests, graduate resources, career planning and placement, and study groups.

Healthy Choices Hall (Alamitos Hall)
Looking for more than a study buddy? In the Healthy Choices Hall students will enhance their learning while challenging themselves to become more well-rounded and live a healthy lifestyle. Through programs, workshops, outdoor, adventures, and collaboration with peers, residents will develop the physical, academic, social, career, spiritual, cultural aspects of their lives.

Step It Up (Cedritos Hall)
This community is guided toward residents who decide to STEP IT UP through personal and academic achievement while assisting others to succeed. STEP IT UP residents will develop leadership skills through First year First Step peer mentoring, student governance, and involvement with campus community.

Open Space (Aliso Hall)
An exciting addition to theme housing, open space is designed for residents to develop a unique theme each quarter. These themes can range from academic interest, current issues, personal achievement and cutting edge topics. Through town hall meetings all residents will share their voices, select topics, create programming and shape their community.

First Year, First Step (Encinitas Hall)
As a freshman, we invite you to participate in our exciting 1st Year, 1st Step program living in the residence hall community with others just like YOU! As first year students, you will form study groups with those who live next door or across the way from you as well as participate in interactive programs that create a unique social experience. Enroll in a program where faculty members and professional staff integrate classroom learning and real life experience. Learn how to integrate multiculturalism and service learning into your academic experience and earn four units of unrestricted elective credit units towards your degree. Gain valuable leadership opportunities for personal growth while learning how to become an effective community leader.

The John T. Lyle Center for Regenerative Studies (CRS)
Interested in environmental issues and Regenerative Studies? Two passive solar residence halls, Riverfront and Sunspace, are located on the 16-acre site overlooking campus. The hillside setting offers a peaceful environment surrounded by natural scenery of water gardens and fruit bearing trees. Students in this community live and learn in an integrative cooperative community with programming focusing on renewable energy capture, water recycling, nutrient recycling, food growing systems, aquaculture and native habitat communities. The grounds serve as a laboratory for both students interested in environmental issues and students minoring in Regenerative studies. CRS is open to undergraduates with at least 36 units and graduate students.
