Hello once again,
I hope that everyone is as excited as I am about school being over. It has been a long year, and summer is definitely welcome.
A few reminders:
Don’t forget to carefully clean your stoves. I know they’re new and probably already dirty with use, so if you want a good, safe cleaner, try “Bar Keepers Friend Cooktop Cleaner.” It’s available at Albertons, Stater Bros., Wal-Mart, or Longs Drugs.
There are free donuts, coffee, and juice available in the morning in the front lobby of Vista Bonita. So if you need a pick-me-up before your final, grab something as you head out.
Don’t forget that if you want to check in on the construction progress, there’s a live camera feed of the construction on the UHS construction website. Just go to http://www.dsa.csupomona.edu/uhs/phase2_traffic.asp, and click on the “Live Webcam” tab.
Good luck on your finals, and I hope everyone has a great summer!

Hi Everybody!
It’s been a long time since the last update, but there’s much to tell you now. This email will update you on driving changes, the Say-It survey, the closing of the tree grove, and the stovetop progress.
To visit the construction website, go to http://www.dsa.csupomona.edu/uhs/phase2_traffic.asp. Also, if you have any questions or comments, please email me, the Student Construction Mitigator, at uhsconstruction@csupomona.edu.

Hi everyone!
The quarter is finally over! With only finals left, the holiday spirit is in full bloom. In this spirit, visions of sugar-plums have replaced visions of the finals test necessities. So if you forget to pick them up at the bookstore, or want to grab one on the way out of your building, Housing has put scantrons, bluebooks, no. 2 pencils, and earplugs (for those occasional noisy times) in the front desks stocking. Go by anytime to pick one up.
Also, please be aware that over the Holiday break, utility shutdowns will start to occur from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. They will then be turned back on for the remainder of the night. For a complete list of utility shutdown times, please look in your building’s lobby glass case, or in the December suites newsletter.
Also, don’t forget to have a blast at Midnight Madness! Starting Sunday, the BSC will be open 24 hours to accommodate your studying needs. But on Monday, the main event is from 10 p.m. to Midnight. There will be free hot dogs, open play in the Gamesroom, karaoke, a meditation room, Twilight Zone episodes, and a bounce house!
If you have any questions or comments concerning the suites construction, feel free to email me at uhsconstruction@csupomona.edu. I would be more than happy to talk to you and tell you about any information that you might be curious about… and as always, you can look online for updates and pictures at http://dsa.csupomona.edu/uhs/construction.asp.
Have a great holiday and you’ll hear from me again in the New Year.

Hi All!
Good News! The first stove is being installed in one of the suites this Wednesday. It is a mock version to make sure that all technical aspects of the stove will be working before they put them into all of the other rooms. It will take anywhere from one to three days to install, but the installation will give everyone a better idea of when to expect them in all the other rooms. It will still take some time before they are able to put stoves into all of the other rooms, but this is a major step towards completing this project.
Construction on the new suite buildings is still moving forward nicely. We’re sorry about the inconvenience last week when the hot water shut off. The complication was unexpected, and there were people working hard to get it back on for you. There are cool little stress cones at the front desk of your buildings that you are welcome to take if you haven’t done so already.
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to email me at uhsconstruction@csupomona.edu. I would be more than happy to talk to you and tell you about any information that you might be curious about… and as always, you can look online for updates and pictures at http://dsa.csupomona.edu/uhs/construction.asp.

Hey everybody!
I hope your first week of school has gone smoothly, and hasn’t been too crazy.
This Monday (October 6th) there will be a Construction Informational meeting in the 3rd floor study room of Vista Bonita at 7:00pm. I will be there to give you the opportunity to ask any question regarding the suites construction process, the impact it may or may not have on your residency, or any general questions that I might be able to answer.
There will be some refreshments available to you, so if nothing else, come listen to everyone else’s questions while you snack on some freebie’s!
Hope to see you on Monday.

Hi All,
Congratulations , this year you've decided to live in the Resident Suites for the 08/09 academic school-year here at Cal Poly Pomona. This summer construction began on Phase II of the Residential Suites, due to open in Fall 2010. It is an exciting time to look forward to the additional housing Cal Poly Pomona will offer to our students in the future. Unfortunately, with construction comes a little extra adventure.
My name is Rachel Anderson and I am the Student Construction Mitagator for Phase II Residential Suites. Fancy title aside, my job is to answer any questions that you might have regarding your current living in the suites and the construction that is happening around the suites. I will work with both the University Housing Department and the construction crews to keep you informed and updated on all aspects of these new buildings.
If you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please feel free to email me at uhsconstruction@csupomona.edu. Also, for more information about the construction and move-in day, time, and place, please go to this link: http://dsa.csupomona.edu/uhs/check_in_residential_suites.asp. Here you will find check-in information as well as a campus map that will direct you around the suites construction and show you where check-in will be held. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
