LOCATION 
59 University Drive on the East Side of the La Cienega Center


UHS Fitness Express is a full body, fitness facility FREE to students living in the Residence Halls, Residential Suites or CRS. This facility is also available to the campus community at a nominal fee.

UHS Fitness Express is fully equipped with 16 weight resistant stations and 12 cardiovascular machines. The equipment has been specifically selected to target the major muscle groups to help you achieve your personal fitness goals.

A brief orientation on the safe use of the equipment is required of all members.

New resident orientation is available whenever staff is present in Fitness Express.

PAID MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

Fitness Express is a full-body, fitness facility primarily for students living in the Residence Halls, Residential Suites or CRS. However, faculty and staff of Cal Poly Pomona are also welcome to become members at a nominal fee.


Membership Requirements

Bring a picture ID and information confirming your current status at Cal Poly Pomona, such as a Faculty/Staff ID.


Membership Fees

For non-UHS residents there is a $25.00 quarterly membership fee.

  • The membership fee must be paid by check, credit card, or money orders. (CASH will not be accepted)
  • All payments must include your Bronco ID number.
  • Membership fees should be paid at the University Housing Services main office located in the La Cienega Center (Bldg. 59) between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Upon meeting the membership fee requirements you will be issued a receipt which you will present to a fitness express staff member who will lead you through the orientation process.


Before Using the Facility

Prior to using the facility or receiving a key card, you are required to:

  • attend a 20-minute orientation
  • sign and complete a liability waiver form
  • review the UHS Fitness Express policies


After Receiving Your Membership

  • be prepared to show ID, membership key card and bring workout towel
  • respect the UHS policies and safety guidelines


Picking Up Key Cards

Pick up your TESA key card from the University Housing Services Front Office at La Cienega Center in order to gain access to Fitness Express.


Returning Key Cards

A notice to return key cards will be sent to key card users who have not renewed their membership by the end of the academic quarter. If the key card is not returned by the end of the second week of the following academic quarter, you will be billed for replacement.


Facility Staffing

Fitness Express is not staffed between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. However, members with current Fitness Express cards can access the facility. If there are concerns regarding the facility during these hours please contact personnel in the Housing Office located across the facility or by calling (909) 869-3307.


 WORKOUT POLICIES

  1. Use the equipment in a safe manner.
  2. No open-toed shoes are allowed.
  3. Always bring your membership card and ID.
  4. No guests. All members must be qualified through the Fitness Express orientation process.
  5. Towels are required-helps reduce bodily secretion accumulations and helps to preserve the upholstery.
  6. No jeans. It wears down the upholstery.
  7. You must wear a shirt/top at all times.
  8. No drinks except in sealed containers such as water bottles.
  9. No glass bottles are allowed.
  10. Do not open the doors for anyone.
  11. Do not prop the entrance doors open.
  12. Be courteous and enjoy your workout.
  13. You should have had a recent physical examination.
  14. Report all fitness related concerns to the Fitness Express staff immediately.
