poly scholars in residence flyer 2008

The Poly Scholars in Residence program began in Montecito Hall in 2007 with academically focused first year students, several of whom will welcome incoming first year students to their community in fall of 2008.  Many of our Poly Scholars in Residence are also connected with the Kellogg Honors College and University Scholars Programs.  This theme community challenges academically focused students to integrate their scholarly pursuits with community development in a living learning environment.  Residents of this community sponsor and participate in events with faculty and staff, as well as, practice self-determination by creating a community standards compact.  Examples of programs include: Getting Involved, Self-defense, Resume Writing, Study Techniques, Multi-cultural Issues and Climate Change.

The Poly Scholars in Residence program has proved so successful, we are happy to announce its extension to Vista del Sol.  This new endeavor will have a similar flavor as the original floor in more independent suite style living.  Poly Scholar’s who have succeeded for one year in Montecito Hall will have the option to enter a lottery for these spaces.
